 Spring is most definitely in the air (At last! At last!), and what could be more spring-like than sneaker shoes in yellow and green? I mean, obviously you would’t wear both of these shoes at the same time, but seeing them together reminds me of a daffodil. I’d be tempted to buy both, just for that reason. And also because they’re only £25.99 each, so buying more than one colour wouldn’t be quite as extravagant as you might think.
 These are a part of spring collection, a fair bit of which has already made its way into my closet. It’s full of perfect pastel shades, spots and stripes, and that’s before you even get to the shoe section. These shoes, meanwhile, are the type of basic which the brand releases every season, varying only the colours. They have almond toes, man-made uppers (You’d have guessed that from the price, of course), and a heel height of just over 4″. Although I’ve described them as “basic”, the bright colours make them anything but, and they’re the kind of thing that will look fabulous with jeans, giving them a fresh new feel.

Silliness aside, I DO love these shoes. Actually, can I just take a moment to record how happy I am that, as spring approaches, I’m started to see so much of my favourite print start to appear in stores?  I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but no one has done more to make PVC an acceptable fabric for footwear than Christian Louboutin. In his hands, the clear plastic is no longer the tackiest alternative to leather you could ever find, but simply a clever way to create the “barely there” look, on women slippers that are as delicate as they are stylish.

In the case of these ‘Aqua Rona’ sandals, the clear sections will disappear when on the foot, creating the illusion of a shoe consisting purely of two slim red straps atop a silver leather heel and platform. Were the shoes ACTUALLY just made from two straps, they’d be difficult – if not impossible – to wear, and probably pretty uncomfortable. With the addition of the clear sections, however, you get all of the comfort (Which is obviously a relative term when we’re taking about slipper shoes like these: even M. Louboutin himself admits he doesn’t design for “comfort”!) of a pump, but with the appearance of a strappy sandal.
